Armey Campaigns For Jones

Politicians in eastern Carolina Friday afternoon were talking about pork--and eating it too.

Third District Republican Congressman Walter B. Jones and former Republican House Majority Leader, Dick Armey, were in Greenville at Parker's Barbecue on Memorial Drive.

Jones was in the east gaining support for his run at another term in Congress. Armey says he is joining the campaign trail for Jones' run at another term.

While Jones and Armey filled their bellies with eastern Carolina pork barbecue--the topic of government pork and their views on spending were on the agenda.

Earlier this month Congressman Jones co-sponsored a bill to cut funding for President Obama's appointed czars.

My 16 year old neice and a friend of hers went to Parker's in Greenville to listen to Armey and Jones and enjoyed themselves! I am so proud of my neice who is a member of the young Republicans Club at J.H.Rose Highschool. They are far out-numbered by the libs, but she and her sister have been faithfull members since they started school there! Go young Republicans! Her step-brother is as liberal as they come and it makes for interesting political discussions! lol

To Mike...Right on the money. It's to bad our schools have "dumbed" down civics and US History, and foreigners know more about our government than most Americans. 60% of our citizens couldn't pass the test for citizenship. The sheeple follow whoever they are told to follow.

Walter Jones does an outstanding job for the people of the third district AND the state of NC. We NEED him and a lot more like him in Washington! As for the czars.... There are about 32 "appointed" czars who do not require approval of Congress, defeating the system of checks and balances set up bt the Constitution. They have as much power as cabinet positions but with oversight of only the President. Sounds like a step toward Socialism to me. The only power Congress has is to control funding for them since that same system of checks and balances allows only Congress to raise and spend money. For those who didn't learn their lessons in school, the Prez submits a budget which is approved or not by Congress, changed or not, and vetoed or not. Checks and balances are integral to a democracy. Without it we slide towards dictatorship!
