A convicted sex offender accused of sexually assaulting a Cary real estate agent has requested a court appointed attorney.
Michael Sleeman faced a Wake County judge Tuesday afternoon on charges of first-degree forcible sex offense and first-degree kidnapping.
Police arrested 33 year-old Sleeman Sunday night, just hours after the realtor told them he attacked her. Investigators say he was pretending to be interested in buying a model home.
The judge elected to keep Sleeman's bond at $2 million. He'll return to court on September 28.
Sleeman was convicted of 2nd Degree sex offense in 2002.
