NC Group Threatens Local Speeders With Paintballs

An anonymous group is warning motorists in one North Carolina city to slow down or consider going to a body shop.

WRAL-TV reported on Monday that Angry Neighbors With Paintball
Guns are fed up with what it calls Durham's inability or unwillingness to deal with speeders.

The group has posted signs throughout the city that warn motorists that it is enforcing the speed limit with paintball guns. The group says drivers who don't get off the gas will be shot at.

Police in Durham are painting a different picture for the group.

They say the signs could be a distraction to drivers and that it's
a crime to shoot a paintball at a vehicle.

People in one neighborhood say they like the signs because they
bring attention to the problem.

So don't speed, and you won't have to worry about the safety of your INNOCENT children. The speed limits are posted for a reason. Those are the safest speeds for those areas. Maybe those people are thinking about their INNOCENT children playing in that area, and they don't want some speeder to hit them.

All of you wannabe tough guys hopefully feel better after your rant. You know good and well you would not get out and shoot anyone. You are tough when it comes to talk, but truth is you would do little more than get out and complain. Weenies.

Ummmm...........isn't there something that can be done about this?? I have 2 daughters that ride with me everywhere I go. How will this group of people feel when they shoot and scare a parent and cause an INNOCENT child to get hurt or even killed?? Looks to me like the police should investigate. Take fingerprints off these posters and lets CHARGE THEM WITH THREATENING THE PUBLIC!!! Personally myself I feel threatened.

I agree with .45ACP and Tony, you shoot a paintball at me and I will shoot a REAL bullet back at you. I promise mine will hurt more and do more damage.

I think it is high time the public take things into there own hands. Let's face it the so called police can only handle so many things at one time on a day to day basis. If the public started taking things into there own hands the crime rate would go down dramatically. Hurray for the good old boys!!!

So, these guys think vandalism is less of a crime than speeding? I can't believe the police can't find the people responsible for putting up signs all over and roaming the streets with paintball guns!

It baffles me that folks speeding through neighborhoods with 6000LBs vehicles do not believe they are breaking the law. When all other means have been exhausted to reduce speeders, it is time to take matters into your own hands. I say "nice shot."
