A man who lectures at a North Carolina university faces 41 counts of third-degree sexual exploitation after sheriff's deputies found images of naked children on his computer.
The News & Record of Greensboro reported that the Guilford County Sheriff's Office said 58-year-old Stephen Francis Dattalo turned himself in on Wednesday. He is being held in the county jail on a $70,000 bond.
Dattalo also was charged with felony possession of marijuana after it turned up during a search last month at his home.
Dattalo works as a full-time lecturer in Spanish in the department of romance languages at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
The sheriff's office searched Dattalo's home on July 23 as part of the department's ongoing investigation into the downloading of child pornography.
