The hottest days of the summer are coming.
Forecasters said Sunday that Monday and Tuesday will bring temperatures around 100 degrees in parts of the Carolinas. Heat index values will surpass triple digits for much of the region.
The National Weather Service warned that people need to take proper precautions, limiting outdoor activity and drinking plenty of water.
Temperatures will fall back to highs around 90 by the middle of the week.
