NCDOT Set To Resurface Part of U.S. 17 In Perquimans County

The N.C Department of Transportation will be using American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds to resurface and reconstruct the shoulders along U.S. 17 from Bear Swamp Road to Union Hall Road.

The $2.1 million project was awarded to Barnhill Contracting Co. of Tarboro.

Work could begin as early as August 31, with final completion set for July 1, 2010.

    I SURELY HOPE THAT THIS CONTRACTOR THAT WILL BE DOING THIS RESURFACING PROJECT SURELY CONTINUE TO USE THAT GOOD OLD RELIABLE FAILING ASPHALT MIXTURES THAT THEY HAVE BEEN USING JUST SO THAT WE CAN GET PAID TO REDO THIS RESURFACU=ING PROJECT AGAIN IN 2 TO 3 YEARS FROM NOW FOR I CERTAINLY KNOW THAT THIS ASPHALT MIXTURE WONT LAST MUCH LONGER THAN THAT THANK YOU
