Authorities say a North Carolina man who could not swim has drowned in a South Carolina lake.
Multiple media outlets reported that 21-year-old Gilberto Presa-Gonsalez, of Cashiers, N.C., drowned in Lake Keowee on Sunday after a wave knocked him off of a sandbar and into deeper water.
Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis says the drowning was accidental.
Authorities think Presa-Gonsalez was wading in water with friends when the wave threw him off balance. The Department of Natural Resources is investigating.
