Two Camp Lejeune Marines Killed In Afghanistan

The military says a second Camp Lejeune was killed Thursday in
Afghanistan.

Earlier we reported 21 year old Cpl. Nicholas Xiarhos died Thursday of combat wounds.

The Department of Defense said Friday that 25-year-old Sgt. Ryan
H. Lane of Pittsburgh also died Thursday from wounds suffered while supporting combat operations in the Helmand province.

Lane was assigned to the 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance
Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force at
Camp Lejeune.

July has been the deadliest month for U.S. and international forces since they invaded Afghanistan eight years ago.

U.S. forces have sent thousands of troops into southern
Afghanistan to target Taliban forces there.

There are 59,000 U.S. troops in Afghanistan, nearly double the number a year ago.

I am sorry for the lost of the Marines. I hope their families can find comfort in knowing that they made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
