A second round of federal funding has been approved for water recovery projects in more than 30 North Carolina counties.
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources said Monday
more than $45 million will be used for drinking water, stormwater
and wastewater projects in 31 counties.
A spokeswoman for Gov. Beverly Perdue said more than half of the
projects will be green projects that promote environmental
Specific details about the projects are not immediately available. Perdue said they will create jobs and build state infrastructure.
More than $86 million in water recovery funds were distributed
to 58 counties in April.
