A task force of state and federal investigators are taking a closer look at the unsolved killing of a North Carolina police officer.
Jonesville Police Department Sgt. Gregory Martin was gunned down in October 1996 after pulling over a red Dodge Ram pickup on Interstate 77 in Yadkin County.
The State Bureau of Investigation and the FBI want to find out if anyone has more information about vehicles stolen around Gastonia at the time of the killing. They also want to know if anyone remembers picking up two men looking for a ride near the crime scene.
Investigators say they are also using the latest technology to review evidence in the case and will soon release a suspect profile.
