Emergency Officials Prepare For Hurricane Season

Were just a few weeks into hurricane season and emergency management officials across the east are preparing for disaster.

Officials from 33 eastern counties met at the eastern branch in Kinston Wednesday to review plans and rehearse how they would respond to a hurricane.

Hurricane Floyd destroyed many homes in east Kinston ten-years ago and officials want to make sure they're ready if a similar storm hits.

About twelve storms and four hurricanes are predicted for the Atlantic, which is a fairly normal season.
