Two Dead After Shooting In Goldsboro

Authorities say two are dead after a shooting was reported in Goldsboro.

Officers with the Goldsboro Police Department say they responded to the 1000 block of Devereaux Street in reference to someone being shot.

They say when they got there they found 47-year-old Donald Mewborn of 902 Newsome Street dead in the front yard of 1013 Deveraux Street from an apparent gunshot wound.

They say a further search of the area was conducted and 50-year-old Gary Devon Buckom of 903-B Marvin Street was also found dead in the backyard of 1010 Devereaux Street from an apparent gunshot wound.

Both victims will be sent to the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Chapel Hill for autopsies.
