Scam artists and hackers are always trying to get your personal information to pad their pockets and make your life difficult. posted what they believe will be the biggest online scams of 2011, based on the security firm,

Smartphones are the new frontier of scam artist targets. With more people owning the gadgets and storing increasingly sensitive information on them, scammers are trying to get into your phone via applications. The computer experts say watch out for malicious spyware disguised in a game or an app. If you download one of these apps, the malware can steal data such as passwords and financial details.

You can protect yourself by checking the application, developer and reviewer comments before you download any app on your phone.

    i would read reviews people being people if they get screwed they will let the world know and just avoid apps like jimmy’s cool app about cool things and apps that do stupid things and if u love to get all the apps u can then don’t put any information on your phone related to bank accounts or anything that can lead to u losing money if someone got a hold of it just use your phone for fun and save all the money things for your computer where there is more security

    How do you check an application to make sure it's ok?? This would be very useful information. I have a smart phone and I also work for a large cell phone company........
