The North Carolina Attorney General's office says scammers are hoping that some companies and agencies just pay bills without checking.
Several state agencies received a bill for $425 from UST or US Telecom, but the company had not done any work.
If you get a questionable invoice, call the company. You can also check with the Attorney General's office to see if any complaints have been filed against the company.
