A Greenville man contacted WITN after he received three suspicious emails from a bank - back to back to back.
Joe Sullivan asked us to share with everyone else the emails he got in one week that claimed to be from Wells Fargo bank. The first said his debit card had been cancelled, the second, his checking had been cancelled, and the third, your transfer has been cancelled.
All of the emails encouraged him to "reactivate his account" by clicking on suspicious-looking links. The emails also had spelling mistakes and came from a coxmail.com account, not the wells fargo server.
Our thanks to Joe for passing this scam alert along to us.
