Progress Energy Warns Of Scams
Progress Energy says some of its customers are reporting suspicious phone calls, and they're getting complaints more frequently.
Progress Energy says customers are getting calls from people who claim they work for Progress Energy or another power company. The caller says your electricity is about to be disconnected for lack of payment. You can keep the lights on, the caller says, by providing credit card information. Progress Energy says the almost never call and ask for your credit card information.
