Phone Support Scam

Today, we continue our look at what Computerweekly.com believes will be one of the biggest online scams of 2011, based on the security firm, Knowthenet.org.uk.

Scam artists may try to access your computer by calling you on the phone and saying there is a problem with your computer. They want to come to your rescue by offering anti-virus software to download. This will infect your computer with a program that grants them access to your sensitive information.

Computer security experts warn you should never download anything from someone calling you out of the blue.
