SCAM ALERT: Fake Loaner Website Tests Consumer of Spotting Scams

The Federal Trade Commission has created a “teaser” website for a fictitious lending company that warns consumers about how easy it is to be fooled by scammers charging up-front fees for bogus loans.

The site also explains how to spot and avoid loan scams.

The website is part of a consumer education campaign to help consumers manage their money and learn to recognize scams.

Not that I'd EVER search for such a site or need this kind of "help", but the website is only one "front" page. They should have led consumers down the rabbit hole a little ways. It might have been more effective in scaring the less wary.
