A grandmother in North Carolina fell for a scam when a con artist got her, hook, line, and sinker. The Better Business Bureau of Eastern North Carolina says, a woman got a call from a person who claimed to be her grandson. He told her he was fishing in Canada and got arrested for catching the wrong type of fish. She ended up wiring him $1,000 for bail. When he called for $2,000 dollars to cover attorney fees, the grandmother again, wired him csh. The next time he called, the woman had wised up and asked him questions only her real grandson could answer. The con artist's gig was us up, but she was still out $3,000.
