Some people are getting letters saying they've won a prize from what appears to be the state of North Carolina.
The Better Business Bureau says fake North Carolina prize offers have been sent to people in our state, from a business that claims to be the State of North Carolina Commissioners of Registration. The letter includes a form and a request to return it with $20.
The BBB says there is no state agency called the "Commissioners of Registration." The letters may even include a fake state seal, but this is a scam.
The BBB reminds you to never send money to someone with the promise of a prize.
