People have been reporting mysterious 25¢ charges on credit card and bank statements. While it's only a quarter, the National Crime Prevention Council says that charge could become the opening to identity thieves.
The Council says the charges appear on the statements as “Adele Services” in Melville, NY. However, there is no business by that name there.
The Council urges anyone who finds that charge to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and the Internet Crime Complaint Center.
The Council says you should also alert the three major credit reporting bureaus, and run a check of your credit.
