The Better Business Bureau of Eastern Carolina says, be wary of banks that offer to establish credit or clear debt by buying new credit cards. For example, new millenium bank, according to the bureau, offers secured Visa and MasterCards to people who want to establish credit or fix their bad credit. The bank charges $39 to get started, and then asks the customer to send anywhere between $300 and $5,000. When people complain, the company refers to a signed agreement. The better business burea says legitimate banks and credit card companies will not ask for money, unless the fees are in the original contract.
