Yahoo/MSN Lottery Email

Two viewers forwarded WITN an email this week, saying they'd won
End of Year Lotteries from Microsoft and Yahoo.

The first red flag is the misspelling of incorporation. The email spells it "incoperation." Another red flag is that Yahoo and MSN are not in business together.

The email says you were one of five email addresses randomly selected from everyone who has a Hotmail or Yahoo address. This was another red flag for our viewer, who didn't receive this email on a Yahoo or Hotmail account.

The email asks you to fill in several blanks about you. Though the email doesn't ask for banking information, an alert from Microsoft warns that these emails are intended to "start a dialog with people in order to convince them to hand over money or personal information." Remember the old advice, if it's too good to be true, it probably is.
