'Tis the season for giving. That's why the N.C. Attorney General's Office is warning, make sure your money is going to charity, not to thieves.
The Attorney General says some scammers are able to set up websites that look like legitimate charity sites. They can also manipulate emails to include Charity logos that would trick people into thinking they're legitimate. Some of those emails are after your personal information. The Attorney General says, it's best to decide what charities you want to donate to on your own instead of responding to emails. You can also research charities online at the following sites:
