Company Has 33 Complaints In N.C.

Some viewers from Pitt County tipped us off to this one. They were told they won an award from the Atlantic Lottery Corporation.

The viewers received an "Award Claim Final Notification" for their $262,000 dollar prize. They also received a check for $4,985. The letter instructed them to wire $3,985 back to the company. The letter had another hallmark of scams: the threat that if you didn't respond quickly enough, the check would become null and void. The N.C. Attorney General's Office about the Atlantic Lottery Corporation says 33 North Carolinians have complained about that company. Officials say the average North Carolina consumer lost approximately $3,000 to this scam. These scammers appear to be located in New Brunswick, Canada.
