The IRS Has Your Refund; Scammers Want Your Information

The IRS is trying to find more than 100,000 people in order to give them their tax refund checks. The federal tax agency says they checks came back to them, perhaps because of old address information.

The IRS says the refund checks average about $953 each. To claim your refund, you need to update your address with the IRS.

The IRS is also warning that these unclaimed refunds have scam artists on the prowl. The agency is warning people not to believe emails that appear to be from the IRS regarding a tax refund. They encourage you to call the phone number or check the website listed above to protect your personal and banking information.
