Hackers Use Email Address Books

Here's the latest from our "friends" in Nigeria. The scammer breaks into a victim's email account, impersonates the victim and sends a plea for help to everyone in their address book. The scammer asks for money and access to email passwords to "verify information." the subject line generally screams "emergency!!!" and details the victim having been mugged in Nigeria.

I've been getting a lot of scm e-mails from nigeria and out of the country say that I've inherited millions of dollars and to send all my personal informations and of course I did'nt they change there name and change there story but they are all in this scam 2 gether. I's a good thing that im aware of these scams. Of course thay say that I have to pay 4 or 5 hundred dollars for courier cost and I just flat out say im not paying one dime right up front but they keep trying everyday and I just let them know that im on to them and that im going to turn my pc over to the proper authorities and no word for a day or two then a new story from a new man or woman . So I told them that I was at the airport with my attorney's and his legal assistant had them in the got seat and of course I wasent and they were furios because they said that I was not suppose to come without prior authrization but I was only playing along with there scandolus game. In short they never got any info. from me. n

i also got an email from nigeria saying that i inherited 20 million from a man that had no family and that they picked my name off of the internet. they said that all i needed to do was send them a fee of 150 dollars so that they can prove i am who i say i am. which i wouldn't do, so they stopped contacting me.

I have been receiving emails from Nigeria claiming I have inherited money from relative. When I didn't fall for that they offered to share the money with me if I would say I was the relative.
