Retirement Party For Dewey Hudson

A retirement party was held Wednesday in honor of district attorney Dewey Hudson who is retiring from office.

Hudson was the district attorney for Onslow, Duplin, Jones and Sampson counties. He has worked at the district attorney's office for the last 33 years. Since 1998 he has held the top job.

Wednesday, many gathered to wish him farewell and a job well done. Hudson says, "Its been an honor and a pleasure to serve the people of Onslow County and I will miss them."

District Attorney elect Ernie Lee will be take office in January.

Hudson, who saw high profile cases like the murder trial of Cesar Laurean, ran for state senate in November and lost.

Hudson says he plans to take off a month or two and relax. He anticipates on opening up his own law firm.
