Rick Perry Drops Out Of Presidential Race

Rick Perry says he's dropping out of the GOP presidential race and endorsing Newt Gingrich.

The Texas governor announced his decision today at a news conference in South Carolina, two days before the state's primary.

Perry said he concluded there was no "viable path forward" for him in the race. He praised Gingrich as a "conservative visionary."

Previous Story

Texas Gov. Rick Perry is abandoning his presidential bid and endorsing Newt Gingrich.

That's according to Republican officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity to avoid pre-empting the Republican presidential candidate's announcement.

Perry plans a news conference at 11 a.m. in South Carolina, where he will announce his decision.

He has faced calls to drop out of the race in recent days as polls show him languishing while Gingrich gains steam.

Well, of the 5 runner right now in the primary, only Perry was slightly lower than the other four who could beat Obama. According to the polls, its still going be anybody but Obama. I guess its left up to the last four to see who makes the cut.

You are slipping! So I guess it's ok that the country has lowered it's values to playing 'russian roulette' in the choosing for the leader of this country. "May the last idiot standing, run for the seat"

He said, "I believe Newt is a conservative visionary who can transform our country" and added, "Newt is not perfect, but who among us is?" Well he sure nailed it one the head! NONE OF THEM IS PERFECT. That's why I will have a problem voting for any of them.
