President Cuts Vacation Short To Deal With Rising Problem In Iraq

(NBC News) President Obama returned to Washington Monday morning, cutting short a Martha's Vineyard vacation overshadowed by the escalating military action in Iraq.

The President informed Congress he's authorized new air strikes to protect a dam in Mosul, saying civilians and U.S. assets will be endangered if it falls to ISIS terrorists.

Republicans and Democrats alike are backing the President, but want more answers.

"We're missing a critical question here which is, 'What is our mission? What is the United States mission? What are we trying to accomplish here?'" says Rep. Tulsi Gabbar of Hawaii.
