The first poll released since the primary shows Pat McCrory leads Walter Dalton by six points.
According to Public Policy Polling, Republican Pat McCrory leads Democrat Walter Dalton 46 to 40. The polling group said this is a narrower margin than when they matched the two up in January, when McCrory led by 15 points.
The PPP attributes this to Dalton's improvement in favorability as well as increased name recognition over the course of his primary campaign.
