NC Senate Proposes Tolls For All Ferries Despite Gov. Perdue's Moratorium

The ferry toll debate is once again heating up as North Carolina senate leaders propose a toll on all ferries, even the ones that are free now.

The bill has been changed to read all ferries are taxed. That's in opposition to governor Beverly Perdue's moratorium on new ferry tolls. All ferries including Currituck- Knotts Island ferry and the Hatteras to Ocracoke ferry would be effected. If approved, tax collection would come into effect July 1st of this year.
