McCain: Foreign Cash Sneaking In Via Super PACs

Arizona Sen. John McCain says foreign cash is sneaking into U.S. elections through super PACs, including one backing ally Mitt Romney.

The 2008 Republican presidential candidate says in an interview posted online Friday that his party's presumptive 2012 nominee, Romney, is taking advantage of new campaign finance rules that allow individuals to give unlimited amounts to independent committees that back a candidate.

McCain singled out casino billionaire Sheldon Adelson's $10 million check to Restore Our Future, a super PAC backing Romney and run by his former aides. McCain told PBS that Adelson earns some of his income at overseas properties, including those in Macau.

McCain is a longtime critic of money in politics and fiercely disagreed with the Supreme Court ruling that allows limitless cash for super PACs.
