Activists are planning a march Monday morning in Greenville as part of a statewide campaign for immigration justice.
The Witness For Peace Southeast and other groups met Sunday at St. Mary's Catholic church in Wilmington.
Monday, the groups will also meet in Greenville at 10:30 am at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
Spokeswoman Gail Phares says the marchers will protest stances by State Rep. Frank Iler. Iler is co-chairman of a special legislative committee reviewing the state's immigration policies. The committee decided last week to delay consideration of comprehensive immigration legislation until 2013.
Similar marches are planned in Raleigh, Rocky Mount, and other cities in North Carolina.
