Lt. Gov. Walter Dalton Campaigned At ECU

Lieutenant Governor Walter Dalton spoke to teachers and faculty Thursday at East Carolina University.

The democratic candidate for governor says if elected, one of his objectives is to align education with job needs and to be able to help students have a job once they graduate. Dalton also discussed the differences between his plan and his opponents, Pat McCrory, as well as the importance of high school and community college preparing students for university academics.

He also got to hear from teachers on how they are working with students.

"I love to go among the people who are doing the hard work and who are teaching our students to become teachers. It was very rewarding for me to sit in this classroom and to see what ECU is doing in teaching our future teachers and providing for professional development," said Lt. Gov. Walter Dalton.

His visit comes just about two weeks after his republican opponent visited the university's heart robotics lab in the life sciences building.
