Interim City Manager Moton Considers Managing Greenville Full-Time

In the last month, Greenville has lost three of its city leaders including city manager Wayne Bowers. Thursday, Thomas Moton officially began his new assignment as the interim city manager and he is considering applying to take the position full-time.

Moton says the city has a number of projects to work on such as the economic development and revitalization of downtown. He says his main focus will be on the budget plan that will be adopted in June.

"To have the city council have the confidence in our management team as a whole and in me individually- it makes me feel very gratified and also it's quite a privilege to be put into this position with the level of responsibility required to do the job." said Moton.

Moton has served the city as the assistant city manager for more than five years.
