Candidates continue to throw their hat in the ring for the upcoming may primary.

Tuesday Brian Brown of Pitt County announced his republican candidacy for the District 9 House of Representatives seat. Brown is the founder and president of Rep Express catering in Greenville. He says this is his first time running for any political office.

Brown says these are tough times for working families, and businesses and he is committed to the necessary actions to push forward and get results.

Democrat Marian McLawhorn currently represents District 9.

Why, because he knows how to manage revenue and expenses? Don't get mad when the conservative voices start to drown out your liberal crap!

I have known Brian for about three years now and am very excited that he is running. I've seen the hard work he has done for the Greenville - Pitt County Chamber and how successful he has been as a loal businessman. He is a man of strong character and I know he'll represent us well.

He might be a nice guy but he's a Republican. We need to get them out before they destroy education in this state.

If I'm not mistaken the Republicans forced through the last round of cuts to education with a veto override. Come on people wake up! Your kid's futures are at stake here.

And can you imagine? That Republican might want to make voters actually prove they are who they say they are, now that s a concept that the great democrats didn't approve of. Your right...They've got to go.

Here is an idea. Lets charge people to vote. Then the only the one's who can afford to vote will get to. And who likes rich people more than Republicans? I mean the poor should take out loans if they want to vote right? Wait wait what? That is illegal too? Hmmm. Let's come up with a better plan for fixing elections.

Here is a good plan for elections: Everyone who is receiving food stamps and welfare checks should forfeit their right to vote because they have a conflict of interest!!!! The GOP likes everyone except the LAZY!

I agree. I mean what's up with people wanting their kids to have a good education. Forget that. Let's just keep taxing people and stuff the money in a giant mattress in Raleigh. The kids would much rather work the rest of their lives as minimum wage workers. I mean really? What are you people thinking? Education is the only way most kids will ever have a future.

We don't need no education or teachers in North Carolina that are hired by the state. Go to vouchers and send your children to private schools where they get learning jist like I did.

We need to let the Republicans fix the Democrat destroyed education system in NC. The liberal hogwash has crippled our children, it is time for some honesty!
