Governor Perdue Again Speaks Out Against Marriage Amendment

Less than a week before the election Governor Beverly Perdue is reaffirming her opposition to the constitutional amendment that would define marriage.

At a stop in New Bern Wednesday the governor echoed remarks she made last month in a video where she called the amendment just plain wrong.

Perdue says, "Amendment One is really, really dangerous for North Carolina. It's the first time I've heard of folks putting in something that's a negative into the state's constitution. Constitutions have always been about freedoms, about what our rights are. And this is actually taking a right away."

Early voting is already underway. Election day is May 8th.
