Gov. Perdue Requests Disaster Declaration For Halifax County Flooding

Governor Beverly Perdue is requesting assistance for Halifax County residents and business owners hit hard by flooding last weekend.

Perdue requested a disaster declaration for Halifax County from the U.S. Small Business Administration. Perdue also signed a state disaster declaration for those who do not qualify for the SBA loans.

The governor toured flood damaged parts of Roanoake Rapids today. Assessment teams are surveying about 75 homes and businesses in Halifax County as well as roads and bridges.
