GOP Leaders Slow To Embrace Romney -- Or His Rivals

Mitt Romney may be the front-runner for the GOP nomination for president, but he has yet to win over most of the national party leaders whose help he will need to defeat President Barack Obama in November.

The upside for Romney though, is that they aren't supporting anyone else either.

The Associated Press polled 87 members of the Republican National Committee who will serve as delegates to the party's national convention and are free to support any candidate for president they choose.

The results were 14 for Romney, two each for Newt Gingrich and Rick Perry, and one each for Ron Paul and Rick Santorum.

67 of the RNC members contacted by the AP said they were undecided or waiting to see how the race plays out before making a public endorsement.

The South Carolina Primary will be held Saturday.

Republican candidates this year are an embarrassment to the party. Yet moderate/liberal Republicans won't confront them, even though the TP policies are destroying American citizens lives and our country every day. Bullies or Cowards, all. I'm a Republican and will cast my vote elsewhere. So will many other Repubs I know. These candidates don't represent us. They only represent themselves, the rich, and the powerful.

Wow...for once I agree with a republican. Newt is an embarrassment...not only to his party but also to the nation. It's hard to believe people actually vote for him which doesn't say a lot about the character of those who think he would make a good president.

I have never believed that all conservatives or all Republicans are evil; simply that they have a different view of how the world should be organized. So I feel quite sorry for them in this political season; for the ridiculous, obnoxious herd of witless fools that represent all the choices available to them. How embarrassed must they be? If I were a serious citizen and also a Republican, I would have to stay home this election year. A vote for one of these clowns shows a willingness to put America in even more difficult circumstances than GW Bush already put us in.

So there is a silver lining to this Newt thing...if he gets the nomination the GOP will not be able to run on the family values rhetoric. It won't apply to Newt. Also, any claim about ethics is gone for them.

KKKnewt is just like a puffer fish all bloated up with hot air. It'll be fun to watch him deflated eventually but in the meantime, he'll provide most excellent entertainment being a thorn in RoboMitt Rmoney's side.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie declared on Sunday that Newt Gingrich has been "an embarrassment" to the Republican Party who didn't have the background or capacity to serve as an effective president. Appearing on "Meet the Press," the top Mitt Romney surrogate didn't refrain from sharp character attacks. "I think Gingrich has embarrassed the party over time," Christie said. "Whether he'll do it again in the future, I don't know. But Gov. Romney never has."

To Clarify the primaries; this is not about Obama who is through, the polls show it and confirm he is the worst since Jimmy Carter, get over yourself. This is about who will be the next president of the US, not about your ego, your disscontent, you feelings either. We all know how the last 3 years have gone and you cannot blame it on anybody else. This is about the GOP which I will be voting for this year. I know you don't like it, but I do not care. I didn't vote for the king of the libterds and his spending solutions, you did. Now you owe 15 trillion with Obimbo wanting to raise the ceiling inspite of the chinese not wanting to loan us since we are not paying them back yet. So with the last 3 years, what do you have to show for it? Post away kids...I am hear for ya...will be looking forward to how much better you life is in the past 3 years. Just remember, I miss Bush....I won't miss Obimbo..did I spell his name right?

Well, make a deal, get treatment for your libterdialitis disease. Obviously, the truth and facts are very painfull for you to stomach but hey, just calling it was it is, Obama is a failure by all the polls and people of pretty much....all of America. NO matter how much damage control you try, it won't work and we feel sorry for you cause its quite a challenge. So I suggest you invest in terd polish. You still have what you have but that baby is gonna shine. If Jimmy Carter would have known, maybe he wouldn't be known as the worst president in history although, Obama slid below his approval months ago. Well, you will know when your libterdialitis is in remission when you realize that you were fool enough to vote for him....

Let me get this straight: The guy who wants to run the country has shipped thousand of jobs overseas to maximize his personal wealth. The guy who wants to run the country has shipped millions or maybe even billions of capital overseas to maximize his personal wealth. The guy who wants to run the country probably doesn't even consume any American made products. I doubt he drives American cars at all. The guy who wants to run the country has made sure, none of his sons goes to any of the wars he strongly advocates. The guy who wants to run the country has been insulting and demeaning every American who isn't as wealthy and rich as he is and he has even called them envious. Now let me ask you this question seriously: Is this the man you want to represent you and lead this great nation?

Come on guys do not sweat-it, the reason why Newt won South Carolina is because the evangelics are staying away from the Morman, so they they went catholic instead. Watch this, if president Obama choose Hillary to be his vice-President in the second term, the republicans will not see the white house for a very long time. We are in the business of creating history, First half white president and the first woman president.

This was a once proud party that welcomed intellect, honesty(to a degree), and dignity. All that went out the window when the GOP pandered to the far right fringes and the Evangelicals for much needed votes. Now their anti-intellect, anti-science, anti-regulation, pro-theocracy platform has become the laughingstock the world over. I have two co-workers who are staunch conservatives and they are absolutely disgusted by what their choice of candidates have come down to. They say they aren't voting this election, but that remains to be seen.

Newt can dish it out...now can he take it? Newt acts like a bully and most bullies really explode when they get the treatment they dish out. The GOP primaries are about to go very, very negative and it couldn't be better for Obama...nor could it be more entertaining. It is interesting because St Reagan, the stated hero of all these clowns would be very angry at this bunch because they are breaking his first commnadment..thou shall not speak negatively about other Republicans. Oh well, St Reagan would not recognize his party if he were alive today.

On Friday afternoon, South Carolina Democratic Party Chairman Dick Harpootlian took the meme to a new place, tying Romney, Bain Capital and drug smugglers together in one corrupt little bow. "This is a guy who continues to tell us he got where he was because of his hard work and good luck. It wasn't his hard work and good luck. It was his good luck to be born to a daddy who worked hard," "And it's becoming clear that he's richie rich. I mean he's got money in the Caymans. What does that mean? The only people I ever hear about with money in the Caymans are doing something illegal. They are smuggling drugs or are sheltering money they ought to be paying taxes on."

Where does these Republicans get these silly one line catch phrases from? "One and done count on it" You better have more than a one line catch phrase if you plan on beating Obama. One and done count on it? Ha! What a bunch of puppets. I mean really, to honestly think that Willard or Gingbat could ever beat Obama, you have to be high on something or really stupid. The funny thing about it is that you guys really believe it. Ha ha ha ha!! ROFLMBO!!
