ECU Alumnus Seeks GOP Nomination For Governor

A businessman from just north of Charlotte who is a former ECU student body president has entered the race for governor on the Republican ticket with some innovative and unique views.

Jim Mahan of Denver NC says he wants to return prayer to every public school in the state and a would have full employment in North Carolina after 185 days in office.

Mahan also says he wants to challenge all North Carolinians to lose 10 percent of their body weight and start a sports activity, wants to require banks to fund all acceptable loans within 30 days of an application and would turn around the real estate industry with a program called "Buy a House."

Mahan is the cofounder of Carolina Eye Care Technician School in Denver and is also a realtor, a former teacher and a former college and tennis player at Lees McRae College.
