Cashing In On Government Grants

Nearly 200 representatives from various non-profit organizations and county and municipal agencies were in Greenville Thursday to learn more about federal grants and how to apply for them.

Democrat Congressman G.K. Butterfield was there to promote government grants to members of the non-profit business community. Grant writing experts offered advice on how to write better grant applications, while representatives of several government agencies discussed various grant programs that are available.

Edgecombe County Sheriff James Knight was in attendance and says that during lean budget times, it's more important than ever to take advantage of these funds.

Butterfield's office says they plan to hold more events like this one in the future.
