Biden Returns To North Carolina, Talks Economy

Vice President Joe Biden is touting President Barack Obama's economic message in the swing state of North Carolina.

Biden spoke to about 600 people in the Wake Forest Biotech Place in Winston-Salem Wednesday morning. His speech focused on job creation and bolstering the economy for the middle class.

The visit capped of a flurry of economic banter between the campaigns of the president and Republican Mitt Romney in North Carolina, which has the highest unemployment rate in the nation.

Both Obama and Mitt Romney made visits in April.

The chief budget-writer in the U.S. House of Representatives, Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan, was in Raleigh on Tuesday on behalf of the Romney campaign.

Former-and-almost Republican presidential candidates Tim Pawlenty, Rick Perry and Donald Trump visited last weekend.
