Wednesday is democratic congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords' last day in office.
She will formally submit her letter of resignation today in order to focus on her recovery. Her resignation follows an emotional outpouring of support from the members of congress at last night's State of the Union address.
She was shot in the head last January during a shooting spree that killed six people but survived. Her health continues to improve but has been struggling to fully recuperate.
