Senate Passes Obama's Economic Recovery Plan

President Barack Obama's economic recovery plan has passed the Senate and is on its way to difficult House-Senate negotiations.

Just three Republicans helped pass the plan on a 61-37 vote and they're already signaling they'll play hardball to preserve more than $108 billion in spending cuts made last week in Senate dealmaking. Obama wants to restore cuts in funds for school construction jobs and help for cash-starved states.

Those cuts are among the major differences between the $819 billion House version of Obama's plan and a Senate bill costing $838 billion. Obama has warned of a deepening economic crisis if Congress fails to act. He wants a bill completed by the weekend.

Windy, what was that jibberish that you wrote???? I do know how to do those things I wrote. I was taught as a child how to do those things so as to not have to be dependent on the government like so many young people are today. U need to get a grip on life! If we have another depression, many of our citizens under 35 couldn't even feed themselves!

Sorry Ace to point out the facts but it was actually MSNBC that posted the story which is a witn relative. Obama signed the papers. Actually Paul, you need to thank Barney Franks and Christopher Dodd for the deficit. I am pretty sure both are democrats as they are registered that way and represented that way. These are the two guys (apparently you hadn't seen cspan) that pushed banks and even forced them to extend loans to credit risk types. These were the people that took loans with some not even having jobs. Gosh, with all the media out there you can learn so much after you get away from moveon.org. Its a whole new world. By the way ace, the only thing going to Mexico is yours and mine tax money for the shove ready projects. Yes the okd the fleese and our money will go to those who take "these type jobs". The are the illegals and the send it to Mexico to their families. See ya all in the gas lines.

Remind me again.........who was President the past eight years? Who left office with the largest budget deficit in history? Who? Wasn't a Democrat...that's for sure.

Snake, Yes what WITN post as news is facts but what WITN post as comments is as far from being facts as it can get. All the comments I have read on here is nothing more than a bunch of B/S. I am old enough to remember way beyond the Carter years, how far back do you want to go Snake? You need to stop printing B/S and trying to sale it as facts to the people in America. Go sale your propaganda down Mexico way.

republicans keep on talking about tax cuts, think people if people are losing jobs left and right we aren't making money so tax cuts aren't doing the unemployed any good. the rich will only get richer

Lavon, you are correct, and how much did it drop at the pumps? Before you state me as being wrong, consider what drove the price down to where it is now, just the suggestion of drilling on our shores. This sent the price per barrel spiralling down. I am telling you based on "facts" we will be going up leap and bounds again due to the actions of "your" president. Well, some of you said Bush wasn't your president. Well, get ready for the ride back up in price. By the way, the news print came from MSN. I am old enough to remember the Carter years, hope you like em cause thats where we are headed. Ace, Witn didn't give this story as NBC didn't release it. They release what they can. You can rest assured that what is posted here is a fact.

Snake, there is a big difrence between your facts and the real truth. We can all come up with internet facts. We also know that thoes facts come from people just like YOU. As for WITN they print the real facts and the real truth.
