Philippine Protesters Take To The Streets Against The President-Elect

Some 100 protesters took to the streets of the capital of the Philippines
Tuesday demonstrating against President-elect Barack Obama.

The protesters marched to the U-S Embassy and called on countries to
re-examine their relationships with the U-S. The crowd carried banners and signs reminding Obama that he was elected on a platform of change.

I grieve to those of my countrymen who were being used. They were lured with money. To have a good meal is so difficult nowadays in this global economic crisis.

This is another of the many stories on this site that don't give enough facts for you to really know what is going on. I don't know now why they were protesting but it doesn't matter. At least, somewhere in the world, there are people smart enough to question this lunacy. I will find out from some other site that reports all the facts what is going on with this protest. Thanks WITN for at least letting me know that SOMETHING happened.

To Anonymous: There are many reasons why the rest of the world is interested in who is OUR President. Our enemies always want a liberal to be President, because we are less likely to respond to threats or attacks with much more than some B.S. rhetoric. Our enemies fear us much less with a liberal in office. Thus our allies also prefer a Conservative or Republican in office because they depend on us to defend them as well. Those are primary reasons. There are many more. We are the leader of the free world whether that sounds arrogant or is a fact. Even the people who hate us watch what we do and temper their actions or reactions accordingly. If we have a PIT BULL in office, they deal with us much differently than some Pansie like Jimmy Carter. Everyone in the world knew we were nothing more than a paper tiger when he was in office. Why do you think the hostages held in Iran for 444 days were released the minute Ronald Reagan was sworn in? THEY WERE AFRAID OF HIM.

I would like to know why in the world do people in other countries care who we have for president. Why does this Inauguration in 2009 have such high intrest? In other parts of the world world no doubt.... Is there something going on that people do not know about here? Questions and concerns for sure.
