Pelosi Weighs Repealing Bush Tax Cuts Before 2010

WASHINGTON (AP) -- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wants Congress to consider repealing President George W. Bush's tax cuts well before they expire in 2010, in contrast to what President-elect Barack Obama is proposing.

In an interview aired Sunday, Pelosi said, "I don't want them to wait two years to expire because they have to prove their worth to me."

But she also noted that Democrats campaigned on a promise to end the Bush tax cuts for those who make more than $250,000.

Pelosi, appearing on "Fox News Sunday," said Democrats had campaigned on a message it heard from the Congressional Budget Office, saying that "nothing contributed more to the budget deficit than the tax cuts for the wealthiest people in America."

Obama also has pledged to end the tax cuts. But aides have said that he is not proposing to raise taxes at this time on those making more than $250,000, citing the economic crisis, rising joblessness and the credit squeeze.

Buzz is correct. The fair tax is the only solution to the mess we are in. Take away income tax, death tax, and capital gains tax and the average american who is willing to work will prosper. Check it out at fair tax. org. Also check out huckpac.com and see how individuals like us can and will make a difference. Change has not come to this country. It will be the same old politics as usual. Run on one platform and vote on another. The dem's run on tax cuts, now that they are in office, repeal the breaks that we have now. The fair tax would end all that and the elections would go back to moral issues: abortion, gay marriage, gun rights, and other issues that this country were founded on. The country that was created as one nation under God.

She is such a moron. How on earth did we end up with Pelosi, Reid, and Obama leading our nation? It's worse than a bad joke - it's a true disaster. God help us!

YEA!! Why tax-and-spend when we can just spend-and-spend? Oops! thats how we got in this mess. You mean somebody has got to pay? Life sucks like that. Well, except if you already have lots of money, then you get to keep it so it can "trickle down" a little bit to us undeserving folk. Makes me warm all over.

Uprising?? Is that what the country needs, I thought it was "Change". We sure got that didn't we. Half of the incoming cabinet are related to the Clinton White House and the other half are old Washington insiders. Love the "change". Conservatives tried and tried to inform people about what the dems really wanted to do if they got into office, but unfortunately, there are more ignorant and naive people out there that got caught up in the Obama Mania and didn't vote with their brains. The next four years are going to be tax and spend, tax and spend, get ready for it, it is coming. Maybe by 2012 the Repubs can get their act together too and come up with a decent truly conservative candidate to run against Obama and we can get the country back on track.

These people have all sold their souls. Now they are after ours. This country needs a serious uprising, but noone wants to stick their neck out. Guess what people our necks are already sticking out.
