Goldsboro High School Student Going To See Obama

As one Governor is being sworn in others are getting ready for the inauguration of another. A local warrior plans to attend president-elect Barack Obama's swearing in ceremony.

Amethyst Mcphail is an Eastern Wayne High school student who was chosen by the Congressional Youth Leadership Council Alumni to head to Washington DC to watch the presidential inauguration.

Mcphail says she was chosen because she is a straight A student, a member of the National Honor Society and shows great leadership potential.

She told us some of the things she'll be doing.
"I'm going to be listening and participating in a round table discussion with Colin Powell and Al Gore."

Although president-elect Obama ran a campaign of change so far Mcphail has not changed her mind. She plans to study Dentistry in college.
