Saturday is a big day for many in North Carolina eagerly awaiting Beverly Perdue's historic inauguration, especially for those in Craven County, who can call her one of their own.
Perdue will become the first female governor and one of only a handful of North Carolina governors to call Craven County home.
Some friends and supporters in Craven County, like Nelson McDaniel, say no matter what your party affiliation, it's time to back the state's leading lady. "She's obviously coming in at a very difficult time a very challenging time, she's not easily daunted. I think if she were easily daunted, she wouldn't have done the things she has done in state government."
Perdue will be sworn in at around 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Raleigh.
