More Easley Cabinet Members Won't Return

At least four more members of Gov. Mike Easley's Cabinet aren't planning to stick around when successor Beverly Perdue arrives next month.

The News & Observer of Raleigh reported Thursday that Administration Secretary Britt Cobb and an aide to Commerce Secretary Jim Fain said they're stepping down from their posts. The newspaper also said Juvenile Justice Secretary George Sweat and Correction Secretary Theodis Beck are retiring.

On Wednesday, Health and Human Services Secretary Dempsey Benton said he wouldn't remain on the job. Perdue said she's on a
nationwide search to find a replacement for Benton. Perdue has yet
to name any Cabinet members.

Easley's Cabinet is known for longevity. Of his 10 Cabinet members appointed in 2001, only three have stepped down.

That will be the best days work Theo has ever done and will save the states taxpayers alot of money. Maybe she will put a Sec. of Corrections in place that will be fair and equitable to all staff from all racial backgrounds not just to one particular race. Good riddens Theo !! Take that lazy, mentally challanged Boyd Bennett with you PLEASEEEEEEEEEEE

If she wants to improve the Probation Dept. (Community Corrections), she'll get rid of Robert Guy and his cronies too. All they have ever cared about is what makes them look good to the Raleigh crowd.
